U.S. Surgeon General Issues Advisory On Impact of Marijuana Use

To emphasize the health risks of marijuana use in adolescence and during pregnancy, the U.S. Surgeon General recently issued a general warning explaining the drug’s harmful effects on the developing brain. The Surgeon General cited increased access to and potency of marijuana, along with misinformation about its safety, as contributing factors in the drug’s increasing popularity among these populations.
